Our 6 Main Areas of Learning & Development

We use play to embed a varied curriculum that covers 6 main areas of learning and development.

1. Personal, Social & Emotional Development

This will include experiences that will help children develop a positive sense of themselves and of others, respect for others, social skills, and a positive disposition to learn.

2. Communication, Language & Literacy

Extending and developing an understanding of vocabulary, speaking and listening, being read to, supporting and extending their skills in beginning to read and write.

3. Problem Solving, Reasoning, & Numeracy

Development of an interest in numbers and counting, making comparisons, sorting and matching objects, and beginning to recognise numbers and shapes showing awareness of their existence within the environment.

Transition to School

It's a huge progression moving from nursery to school and we want to ensure that this is as hassle-free as possible
for each child and the parents. We work closely with the local schools and the extended community throughout the
child's time with us to ensure we make that transition as smooth as possible when it comes. Please feel free to
ask a member of staff for our transition to school policy.
